To ensure quality, clarity, and historical integrity, an initial set of 7 key archives was selected for digital integration. These were carefully chosen based on scholarly impact, public interest, and legacy significance. More may be added over time. - Where are the rest of Jim’s archives?
Over 240 of Jim’s original documents are available for download in their original PDF format. These are preserved in their entirety for public reference and remain unaltered from their original publication. - How is this site connected to MOMA and the Saltville Foundation?

Dr. Jim Glanville (1941– 2021)

A London-born chemist turned Appalachian historian, Dr. Jim Glanville earned his Ph.D. in physical-inorganic chemistry in 1967 and taught at Virginia Tech until his retirement in 2004. In his encore career, he became a leading independent scholar of Southwest Virginia’s prehistory, publishing extensively on its archaeological and colonial roots. Now an American citizen and longtime resident of Blacksburg, Virginia, Jim’s legacy lives on through Holstonia.co—home to decades of public scholarship and regional research.
